sister jana is taking a class and making a tree skirt, using paper/foundation piecing.

she kept busy working away...they all humor me with the pictures....

carol brought her finished mats...

carol made auntie pat this mat using uncle jacks old wool pants..great wool!

carol showed me she was using the sewing hussif i made them all a couple years ago inspired by a wool friend. i think i made 10 in all..each a bit different.

and carol kept on stitchen....

auntie mary has been punchen! she ran out of thread soo...

Stacy from buttermilk basin and her husband were there...  great to visit with them! she is a wonderful gal with so much talent and energy! i told her she must of designed patterns in high school because i have some of her halloween patterns from years ago. here is her web site go check it out!
 http://buttermilkbasin.com/
this is what i came home with from Stacy's booth... i loved her idea of the little mats. i can change the middle,  with the seasons. she had lots of great patterns for each month, its a nice size to mount on a larger bread board, hang on the wall, or what ever!

Emily from the red button was there, we loved going to her quilt shop Emily's cottage but now enjoy seeing her with her new pattern company. here is her web site....  http://www.redbuttonquiltco.com/
and bonnie from willow wood market...
http://www.willowwoodmarketdesigns.com/page/page/4237891.htm , bonnie has a out door harvest festival that's wonderful! we missed it last weekend but will try hard to get there next year!  we are fortunate to have these wonderful talented gals here in the north!
daughter Angie is out of town again this weekend so i am keeping her dogs company thru out the day... it gets to be to many at my house now as i have Sadie the beagle visiting this weekend too soo its a good thing Angie lives only 3 blocks away... this was morning coffee on her porch with a new magazine... of course Koa was on my lap and Oliver tried to get on my lap but....is getting a bit big, altho he sure doesnt think so!

owls and owie

My daughter loves owls ( inspired by her dad ) and this year seems to be the year of owls everywhere. fabrics, wall attire ect.. she saw this fabric and had to make something, she finished two of these one for herself and one for her friend. cute! so proud of her and i was thinking she'd never sew...

Grand babe #1 had a sore ending to his weekend.. they stopped by my house after getting home from  visiting uncle Jason/auntie Jessie in Duluth. Next thing we knew we were off to the emergency room...no stitches but a nasty cut... on a happier note out came the 2nd tooth!

treasures and bath time...

yesterday we had our city sales and farmers market. Cindy and i started bright and early and covered a of bunch of sales... we didn't find alot, but found some things. sometimes i think we have it all...and that's why we don't find much. its hard to shop sometimes for " timeless treasures " you just don't know whats gonna sell and it always amazes me what does sell.. i did find some smalls for the shop, some tea bag holders, copper measuring spoons, corn salt/pepper and books. oh i did get a full size old metal frame with wheels and box spring and mattress from someone i know for 40. and i think grandbabe #1 is getting that. as he will soon be out growing his twin bed, and a portable dvd player for 10.00 which is great cuz the other one fell off the bed and broke last time g-babe #2 was here....

then i discovered it held more thread...cool!

cool little cabinet... love the paint.

i love candles both for myself and gifts...

bath time!
