i met someone working there that
also was a rug hooker! whoo hoo!

i feel like i need to go back
as i did alot of chatting and
really never looked around much..
but enjoyed visiting with a fellow rug hooker!

next lunch! nice small town café!

next stop Bemidji, MN
Auntie Mary quickly found
her sons skate board design in a window
they were closed so we couldn't go in and brag!

I forgot to take a picture but it is
Sadie Rae's quilt shop!

so 3 quilt shops today! was a good day!
with great food, friends and fun!
1 to go, it was in the opposite direction
so we will do the last one
 separately, another day!
sister Jana went with Carol P. on Monday.

then she went again Tuesday
 with Mary, mom and I!
daughter Angela met us there!

Mary ran into friends!

we visited 4 shops in our region
so each got a mug, 3 fat quarters and a scissors!

i am making a baby quilt for my friends daughter
who i recently made a quilt for their wedding!
they are expecting a girl
 soon after their first anniversary!!
i found some fabric! i need
to order the pattern then i will be all set!
found out when cutting the fabric
it was by the same designer
that the fabric was that i made their wedding quilt of!

a finished rug.. or 6

I don't think i showed you the finished rug
I hooked for my daughter.
(I had help along the way)

i used a couple of the greens that i dyed and
recycled wool for the background.
sister Jana had gone up to visit
Bonnie at Willow Wood Market (Cobbler Carols cousin)
and brought me home a couple different teals.
As Angela wanted a teal bird. its not as bright in person.

i also don't think i showed you these other rugs i've finished.
i know i had shown and asked your opinions on the
beginning stages of this first one.

i made these 2 for my sister and I
i used recycled wool from our dads
vintage wool coat.

i wanted to try the proddy sunflower
so incorporated a couple rug ideas.

i picked these treasures up yesterday
at my neighbors sale.
the 2 bowls for 5.00 / basket 1.00
i just could not leave them there,,
i have quite a few of these vintage picnic baskets
and this is in the worst ware of the ones i have.
i think it will be a perfect porch basket!
and who could resist these Texasware bowls
they are in perfect condition and waiting for a summer salad!

well thats it for today,,
enjoy your august days my blog friends!   jody

Cobbler Gathering..

i have been working/playing in the yard
so not much hooking time,
but its coming along!

it is a kit i had ordered from
the old tattered flag
sometimes its nice to not have to color plan..
altho the colors are just a bit
bright for me so i may
spray with walnut crystal spray..

last Wednesday we had our cobbler gathering
in the woods at Auntie Marys/Uncle Doodles (Doug) Cabin

the cobblers were waiting
while mom and i were on our way

we are here cobblers!

lots of munchies..

simply beautiful table setting using Aunties
tea towels..

always great food.
auntie Mary made a huge salad,
Joyce brought garden fresh baked potatoes
sister Jana made a yummy chicken tater-tot casserole
(Molly Yehs recipe, she lives near by)
there may have been bread there too...

it was cool/windy so we did not go
for a pontoon ride on the lake.
some show and tell.
Auntie Mary started a new project.
she had also crocheted a prayer shawl but..
i didn't get a good picture of it.

then she showed us a bit of a new process
she was doing with her tea towels
amazing for sure!

ready for the dye bath!

of course lots of chit chat!

Carol brought pictures of her/daughter
from a few years ago.
what a beauty Carol
and Shell is just a cute as an adult!

she had found me some vintage
mini Tupperware salt/peppers
at a sale! thank you Carol!

i showed the wool ornaments
by butternut basin
i have been working on to have
on hand for the holidays..

i had asked mom to pick out a
2" stitchery from
Itty Bitty Celebrations
 by Lisa Bongean.
mom showed Jana and she said..
have her make the sheep
with all those French knots. Ha Ha!
mom picked the kitty
so.. i made sister the sheep!
it was quite funny, ya had to be there..

Carol P finished this diamond dot
that she had given me for my birthday!
Love it and the colors are so pretty in person!!
thank you Carol P!

 time for dessert!
Carol had made a lemon/cream chz/coolwhip dessert
and mom brought a rhubarb/cream chz/custard dessert
Yum! Yum! Yum!

then time to go, there were so many deer!
im glad we left before dark!

uncle Doodles (moms brother)
arrived home soon after we left!
sorry we missed you!
