peach swirl..

cucumber swirl and cherry/vanilla. yep made some soap yesterday, later in the day so its not all ready to come out of the molds.. i had gotten a cherry blossom sample fragrance oil but it wasnt really enough for a batch so i added some vanilla bean oil to it and yum! it will do just fine.
i worked, well i really dont think its work but i did play in the back yard some yesterday. i finished cleaning out the bigger pond so hope to fill it today. just in time to dog sit this weekend and im sure oliver, angies big puppy will probley end up in it! he is such a puppy and such a big cute puppy! angela has a scrap booking retreat this weekend but i think she was maybe bringing her quilt to work on. its been chilly here but yesterday it did get nice. i probley would have been out in the snow as i really needed a little time in the yard! nice and sunny today too so maybe i can get all the ponds done and ready for the season. i know the fish are ready to go outside! ill see if i can find a picture from last year...
we bonded at moms yesterday morning for a little bit. we are all slowly making progress on our stitching, jana had gone to a speaker from a bed & breakfast and came home with their cook book so we looked thru that too, we might not get alot done but as always it was nice to be together and chat..
timeless treasures will soon be open so i will be probably bringing out some treasures and soap in the next couple days and i see spring clean up is the end of the month so curb shoppen here i come! one of my favorite times of the year...

a 50th anniversary quilt..

i actually spent most of yesterday catching up from the weekend, lots of cooking, eating, eating and cooking oh and bonding with the kids and g-babies...
i thought id share a few pictures of a quilt my sisters/brother and i gave mom and dad for their 50th wedding anniversary, we all had a part in making it...
the 2nd picture shows mom and dads wedding picture and a picture of them later, 3rd picture is my moms parents, 4th is mom and her siblings(all still here and 3 with in spitting distance! ha!) with great g-pas car, and 4th is my dads parents. it turned out so nice and they love it....

a windy, good friday

yesterday it took me so long measuring out the oils for my soap that i didnt get any soap made... i did spend the later part of the day in the back yard raking and cleaning up some. today is suppose to be really windy like 40 ish miles an hour so i asked my nephew AJ to come help me load up the pick up with yesterdays work so i can get rid of it before it gets to windy. alls he asked for was coffee! what a guy! thanx AJ!
i have been slowly turning marks man cave aka the den, into my sewing room. its a perfect room with a window leading onto the the wrap around front porch. mom and her sister use to climb out the window and have tea parties on the porch. it also has a nice big window over looking the enchanted garden area where i have some old pieces planted up ect... anyway this is a shelf in my room i think i got the way i want it. i picked it up at a thrift shop for what i thought was kinda alot... 10.00 but love it and think it is perfect.
remembering the reason for the season, i hope you all have a blessed Easter!

more soap and a puppy..

yesterday i made more soap, i made sage and calendula. both turned out well and smell great! the calendula has tea tree oil in it, so is a good skin balm soap. ive had a bunch of you ask about selling my soap. i sell here in town and am trying to figure out how i should start on the computer. either a picture trail, selling blog or etsy or ebay...any advice on what works well for you would be great... i would like to sell other things too like my baskets and treasures i find.
today i need to measure more oils into batches and hopefully make a cucumber swirl and a peach swirl..and then get out in the back yard. i did get lots done yesterday afternoon with the dogs and cats laying around watchen me.. it was so nice to be out. today my grandson told me that when the wind blows it is God talking to me, so i told him i would listen closely!! my #1 son jason is shadowing a chiropractor who is looking for a new associate in duluth so i will also be chatting with God to as jason will soon be done with school and job hunting sooo good luck today my son jason, i am so proud of all of you!
also here is a couple pictures that # 2 grand babes mom sent of him with a new puppy in the family... i had to share as way tooo cute!

easter stockings..

a special friend from long ago had made me these wool easter stockings. so cute and primitive, i love them and have wanted to make more but sure havent... i dont know if they are from a pattern or if they are her design.. i had gotten this bunny years ago and have had it wrapped for a gift for a friend but... may have to keep it. i might just find a place for it! sun is shining here today yea! hope where all you are it is too!

easter eggs

busy weekend with a busy 4 year old! the weather was pretty dreary all weekend but we did what we could outside when it was nice. #2 grandson helped me around the yard and we took plenty of walks. the time always seems to go so fast when they are home.
saturday i noticed i didnt have Internet so i was talking with the phone company alot. i had mom and jana come over to bond and be here with me as the phone guy was suppose to come by. i told them i had left over quiche from the weekend...yum as always. and all of a sudden it was 1pm and mom made us egg salad sandwiches. soo good! i called the phone company and they said he had fixed the problem about 9:30 and didnt need to come out.... soo i sent them home to get on with their day! it was a nice monday morning of bonding tho and i even did alittle rug hooking! i have a feeling its going to be a busy week of getting a few necessary things caught up like taxes, vet, ect....
