a brisk walk today...

as this is what the weather is like up north!
the read circle is a wind chill advisory... BRRR

i have been busy binding my rug, i am whip stitching it with wool strips.
its not a nights work and your done type of finishing! at least for me! i am liking it tho!
will try remember a picture tonight.
i found this cute lil tea set last summer at a sale for 4.00, loved it & had this in mind.
so went thru my wool stash and finished it!

i did a little work on my "stitch a day for a year project"
its turning out to be a sampler of my days and what is inspiring me at the time...
im working on osenburg fabric, which if i had thought about it i should have done
on linen or muslin as it is hard to do small stitching on it. oh well i like "primitive"..
we had more snow yesterday so got some snow-blowing in too...

Auntie Mary sent this awesome photo from California..
i guess they have been getting a lot of rain.. but at least its not snow!

I Finished!

i finished hooking my rug!! altho i still need to steam & bind it!
i did change the eyes to a yellow and like it better. (picture to come)

A renewal of vows..

Saturday was a great day for a celebration!
Cobbler Carol P and husband Chuck renewed their wedding vows..
and the Cobblers were invited!

and had a lil help from the grandpup...

i went for a walk yesterday.. it was beautiful! 30 above.
i took some pictures..

today a bit colder -2 so it was a much shorter walk!

January Cobblers Night..

Sister Jana called me yesterday and said "whats for supper?" i told her i hadn't really thought about it and she said.. its quilt night! i had forgotten all about it!! GEEZ
She had a quilt she needed to tie as did Auntie Pat so we decided she would host and we would order pizza.

 we checked out Sisters sewing room.... love it!

 Carol P had gotten this cool clock for Jana..

 Then it was time to Tie!
Auntie Pats was first!
for her grandson who loves bacon (sashing fabric)

 Jana had made this for Carol and her Husband Chuck
who are having a ceremony this weekend to renew there wedding vows..(34yrs)
she had left before we tied this.
jana is having it embroidered with their original wedding date and
the renew ceremony date.

then it was time to celebrate sisters Jan 2 birthday!

I had gotten a gift in the mail yesterday from my friend Mary..

 a beautiful pattern/kit and book! OMG i love it!
the fabrics are absolutely gorgeous and right up my ally!
Mary has always been a very generous giver..
thank you so much Mary!! she also decorates her gifts just beautifully..

auntie Mary & Doodles are in California for a couple months..

busy weekend..

a friend and I went to our first sale of the year, one i have gone to for many years...
we got there right when the doors opened at 7am.
i have stood in a freezing below 0 line many times.. this year it was above 0.

a few of my treasures...

my family has used these spoons for soup ever since living in japan..

then we found an antique flea market!

 i found another rug beater.. it was only 3.00!

then we stopped in this fun market!
son Jason ended up with the bull dog sauce i bought, and daughter Angie wants some of the fish
so guess we will be going back!

next it was time to watch our favorite hockey player!

we made it to 3 of his games this weekend.

Lastly a Birthday party for grandbabe Brody! 9 years old now!!
