thrift store stop

yesterday on my way home from the dentist... i stopped at a thrift store. i found this cute little Cotton holder and these great little bags. i had just been to Joanne fabrics and almost picked up some bags, plain brown 13 for 8. but thought id wait til i had a coupon. anyway what a great find at the thrift store 13 for 3.00. also found 2 pails and some pooh bear eggs for Easter for the g-babes. almost made going to the dentist worth it...
its a cloudy dreary day here in Minnesota but i like it. i sat and had my first cup of coffee out in the back yard with the dogs, cats and lots of birds . i could hear my parakeet in the house chirping at the sparrows in the yard.

my oils were here yesterday when i got home so that's what i will be doing today... measuring oils for my soap and taking breaks in the back yard!

wool applique

this is a project that i finished awhile ago, i love it and really like working with wool! ( cant get it to load right )  spring is here!  yesterday i was working in the  back yard and the sun was shinning and the geese were flying it was so nice to be outside.. since i have alot of up keep to do around the house, painting, gardening ect and timeless treasures is opening, i will be checking in here and showing you finished projects or collections i have if, i have dont have a craft i am working on.... altho i will be working on soap in the next few days and i really am trying to get to my hooked rug....

catching up...

busy weekend with grandbabe #1 and his 2 puppys. now i understand why we have babies when we are younger! he is wearing papa marks cowboy hat that hangs by the door, its very crooked... too funny! busy, busy, busy, but lots of fun and i wouldnt have it anyother way!

i worked on wrapping soap for a couple orders thru the weekend.. am waiting for some supplies to come (ups) this week. no hooking for me the last few days :(  maybe a bit tonight....

the first quilt here is one my nephew gave my sister for christmas. i soaked it some and washed it for her. turned out great... nice and clean and so pretty. english paper piecing... i think he paid 48.00 for it!!              

the second here i washed today for my mom. i had gotten it made for her years ago when we were in japan. i had it made in the Philippians... that was before i started quilting. the pink looks more like a peach in the picture.

wrapping soap..

getting it ready to go to a shop here in town, and my helper is keeping a close watch! im thinking next week should be the start of a few weeks of soap making....my helper will have to be tucked away safely tho!

a light snow fall

during the night, so when i went to let the dogs run in the back yard they could make fresh trails. everything is covered with a light, fresh, clean coat of fluffy snow. i glanced around and saw a blob in a tree and knew what it had to be. so i went and got my glasses and grabbed the binoculars that are by the door and a beautiful balled eagle just sitting on a branch over the river. i called mom and dad but... houses in the way so i stood there for along time and enjoyed. the water is open back there so the eagles are around alot for us to enjoy if we happen to look up and for a brief moment see them in between the houses and trees...
i finished the jean quilt completely and will deliver it today, my mother crocheted me an afghan for my birthday in feb and thought id show a picture of it. it of course is beautiful and perfect and from her! i love it..

# 2 grandbabe...

will be spending  today and tomorrow yet with me, we had a good day today. he came with me to bond out at sister janas and ended up playing hockey with my father ( great grandpa ) in janas basement! priceless!! my work table in the den comes in handy for lots of things.....

i finished binding the jean quilt and put a label on it so its done and ready to go! now on to the next project... not sure what that will be for sure yet. i am going to hook a couple rows tonight while watching storage wars tho...

heres a couple pictures from out at janas. she has been working on some ufos and had finished this snowman stocking, and pillow cases. the pillow cases she said are for out the lake on the hammock, they will be perfect!  i really love the fabric, kinda looks vintage in a way. she had also gotten a couple books and reproduction civil war fabric from country threads so we looked thru those and had a nice visit. mom continues to work on her wool project, and its coming along perfectly...

a birthday..

yesterday march 4th our sally girl turned 15. happy birthday sally girl! she has been such a great part of our lives and such a good girl..
son #2-jeff, tonya and grandbabe were home for the weekend. i actually will be watching the busy little 4 yr old all week as no day care. so not much hooking ect done this week!
i found this quilt block at a sale, it still has the .25 cent sticker on the back. its 18 in square, id like to frame it or something.. oh the treasures we find! i cant wait for spring and the sales to start!
