i love homespun!

oh my gosh, friday already and may 11. the time sure goes on by.
daughter angie is doing better! i did finely sleep in my own bed last night and her and #1 grandbaby did just fine, she read to him, prayers and tucked him in and they were both sleepen by 8 she said. i was just over and helped her with a few things and she may try go into work this afternoon for a bit.
i havent been hooking or soaping or anything besides being with angie and working in the yards some, but wanted to check in and say hi to all my blogging friends so thought i would show some quilts I've made.
i have some of them hanging on these screens that i got while we were in japan and love how i can move them around easily ect. even decorate the gardens with them when i do fun things out there.
the top one i made 1 for each of my sisters and hand quilted them and also 1 for myself. the middle one was a kit from country threads and the bottom one i put together in a weekend when mark went tdy to England, i moved the furniture and started piecing. i handstiched it also. and the other one i have shown b/4 it was a kit from country threads and i call it barn door but im not sure if thats even the right name, feel free to let me know! id hate to get up and look at the pattern....
well heading outside for a bit, its windy here but that keeps it getting to warm while playing!

sister janas son nick graduated from his college this am and we are all so proud of him! he starts a new job on monday! good luck nick! we all love ya!

rainy tuesday..

last friday daughter angie had some surgery, it was alittle more than we were expecting.. all is well tho and today finley we can see light at the end of the tunnel as they say! its nice we live 3 blocks apart, i can run home and check on the dogs, cats and birds, they seem to be fine with out me,  mom and jana are around offering to help also. tonight tho i think i will be home in my own bed!

anyway i went home for an hour or so and got my soap gifts for the give away ready to go out in the mail. here is a picture... cindy girl checked them out and they passed her inspection.. im going to do another give away when i hit 50 followers!!

i went to a sale on thur and thought id show you my buys....

the adorable bed light ( it hangs on the old bed frames ) was .50 cents dont know if i can part with it...

the home made sewing cabnet was 1.00 dont know if i can part with it either...

the 2 tables were 3.00 each and i will resell at our shop.

and the wicker set i payed a little more for and will probley put it up on my balcony and sell whats i have there now... not sure yet.

baskets in the kitchen...

 

these arent the best pictures but i wanted to say hi and didnt have any thing to really talk about! as i havent had a chance to work on anything fun...well yard work is fun but.. its been catch up the last few days and today and tomorrow looks busy too... sooo these are some pictures of some baskets i have made, i hung these up in here before we even moved in! there are cosmetic things id like to also do in my kitchen but have been saying that for the last 15 yrs so i seem to just keep adding instead... tomorrow i will draw a winner or 2 from my followers, thanx guys for hanging in here with me!

yesterday i did some work in the front of the house as the spireas will soon be blooming and im hoping for a photo opp! i thought this bird bath was deserving of a photo yesterday. so pretty with the blooming around it. the bird bath actually was my very first curb treasure almost 15 years ago... i also remember this bird bath in a neighbors yard the many years i was growing up so it does have some age to it and has seen better days but im happy to have it!

sally girl rested (and doing well) in the front porch while i was raking in the yard and seemed perfectly happy enjoying the smells of spring. right above her outside the screen i found this mommy robin sitting in her nest. there are 3 nests in the vines there and i think 2 are occupied.. soon the chirping of babies! i love this time of the year..

sunday night and sallys better..

yes, i was in the kitchen cooking and all of a sudden there was sally waiting for a little something to fall from the cutting board! she is slowly getting her balance back which is great because yesterday i even took ice for my back in the car with me! jeff did most the helping of sally girl while he was here. she even jumped on the couch herself now tonight so i get the recliner! one more night and i think i will be able to leave her down here alone and sleep in my bed! she made it out a couple times today to sniff around the yard and still falls if she goes to fast or trys to shake but all in all i do see improvement!
i didnt get much curb shopping in but i did stop and pick up these treasures when i went to pick up #1 g-babe from day care. "grandma why are you turning around in the middle of the street and why are you taking that stuff out of someones yard?" then angela looking at me like great.... he will be wanting to curb shop with g-ma...i am going to cut the bird house off the stand and find a place on the shelf for it.. and i really needed another watering can!!! :)
the grandbabes got alittle playing time in and sally got alot of spoiling, angela made it home from the cities, all my children are safe/sound and now my house is quiet and the kittys are starting to show up 1 by 1! so i am catching up on my blogging friends and getting a chance to check out what  i bought and got in the mail yesterday! love it! thanx cathy so much for the wool also!

i see i have 31 followers yea! thanx to my new blogging friends that are stopping by i love being a part of this new community sharing what we all seem to have in common a love for creating! i think its time for a give away! im not sure what i will do yet but it will have to do with my soap soooo stop by and alls you have to do is be a follower on my blog! so on friday i will pick a winner from my followers!

its friday!

well lets see... sally girl is about the same..i tucked her in on the couch last night and woke up from the recliner and she was sound asleep on the floor..so i moved to the couch.  i havent been able to leave her alone or... i havent wanted to leave her alone. i dont like her getting up and trying to walk without me as she falls right down hard and those bones are old,  i dont want her hurting herself. she actually is on the couch and chewing on her bone so she continues to be in good spirits and did drink a bowl of water. jeff, tonya and # 2 grandboy will be coming home tonight to see her so she will be really happy to see them.
yesterday while we were in the kitchen, i made scones. i call my friend stephanie (loft creations blog) the scone queen, she has sent me all kinds of scone recipes and this one is one of my favorites. sister jana wanted some for a gift and i thought #1 grand boy would like some for a after school snack.
i had made soap the day before so cut that up also.. sweet pea and pining memories. my swirls got alittle top heavy... but once cut up i think they are fine.
