last weekend we had 60-70 above O! so wonderful to feel the warmth and sun. rejuvenating to watch see and hear the signs of spring come alive..
Grandbabe #4 due June 4th and growing..
I stopped over at Auntie Pat/Uncle Jacks for a visit and had Auntie show me some of her vintage quilts her mother had made.. My phone lens was dirty so pictures aren't the best.
Auntie Pat is the QUEEN of scrap quilts and has saved and used clothes that were her mom/dads, her children's and more... she is working on this scrap quilt now..
just wanted to check in with all of you my blog friends.. I'm trying to get back up on the horse as they say, I'm hoping Spring will help me... enjoy your day! Jody
Aren't those quilts gorgeous! I wished my great grandma had put name and date tags on hers, but back then, quilts were made for function and warmth and not so fancy. Utilitarian and something that HAD to be made to keep warm in winter. Just another chore the ladies had to do back in the day.
ReplyDeleteThe quilts are all so lovely and I think it was very insightful to have name and date on the back.
ReplyDeleteAll the best for the baby and mom in waiting.
We are still in the middle of winter today with wind blowing snow around. Where is Spring???
All the best. Hugs,
JB
