meeting a blogging friend..

on Saturday i jumped in the car and traveled to Fargo,ND about a 1-1/2 hour drive and i went to the fiber arts festival. i knew that Stacey from on the prairie rugs was vending there! sooo fun to meet her and her very nice husband! it was like we were already friends and just chatted away! i had to have her send pic of her booth area cuz we chatted so much i forgot! they are such a nice couple and they met here in crookston MN when they were both in college. how cool is that? i think they are about a 3 hour drive from me, not sure tho. i think they need to come to the town they met and spend a night with me! I'm sure they will see some changes in our little town. Tracey had wonderful wool, patterns and was working on a rug while there. i do wish i could have gone back on Sunday and walked around a bit cuz once i ran in to her i didn't see anything else! she is on the north county fiber arts board and will be at the fiber fair in Water Town, SD in Sept. so maybe a road trip with my sister or the cobblers! ( i can hear the cobblers saying " yea right, jody ") i think its about a 4 hour drive from here... i did buy a pattern of hers and i stayed up til 1:30 am when i ran out of wool.. so thought id give ya a sneak peak! felt great to hook a bit into the wee hours of the night.

a basket and the tooth fairy...

my childhood friend tim was in town as his mom passed away.. we have grown up together living only a few houses apart. we have continued to be a part of each others life and he calls me "yo". we had made plans for coffee on my porch, it was his birthday and i have wanted to make him a bread basket for so long, i got up early and made it, of course i also gave him a piece of ironstone and some soap too... we had a nice visit but cut short because of the news of angies friend.. his little "loralie" looks like kims millie, from millies mats. loralie was a tough little cookie trying to take on poor old sally girl but she didnt mind the kittys at all...

so grandbabe #1 has had his first loose tooth and his day care mom was threatening to pull it out the next day. well, dad stopped by and started teasing and out it came! so now he doesn't have a loose tooth any more and i swear he grew up even more over night!

thank you for all your kind words, thoughts and prayers,

enjoy your day!                 jody

Sunday night..

Gosh... My daughter lost a friend today which has just devastated her and her friends. Me too.. So hard to understand.
When we live in a small town people tend to pull together, our quilt shop owner went in for routine back surgery and had complications..and she is still in icu. There is a shop hop tomorrow so sister jana and are helping out... The least we can do. She was one of marks nurses when we had to spend a night here in town at the local hospital up the street.
I did manage to get a couple pictures of the new babies so thought id show you..i will be by your blogs to say hello soon!

Enjoy your evening... Jody

babies again!

yep, and i think there are 2 this time! i saw a little dark puff and now a little yellow puff so ... time will tell. in this first picture mom and dad are keeping their little ones warm ( as if it isn't warm enough out ) and this is the last babie pecking at some bread.. so now you will be getting baby dove pictures again!
still hot and ugly muggy! i have been trying to weed abit and cut some things down in my gardens. my gardens look like its the end of august already..

look closely...... its the little yellow puff.

my son Jason and a couple friends packed up the moving truck on Tuesday and drove to Duluth on wed unloaded and drove back to mlps on Thursday to take a final at school. i bet they are tired... and Tue am i got a text at 6:30 telling me that they woke up to no power in their apt building, no elevators ect.. and they were 3 floors up sooo not a happy camper and the did haul alot down the stairs before the power came back on later in the morning... Jessica's last day of work is today and she will be going to Duluth to settle in while Jason stays in mlps to finish up some stuff before heading to Duluth
to start his internship.
