I'm going to look through my stash for a brownish/tan back ground. not sure about the other colors yet. the worst problem for me is picking out the colors...oh, i bought this pattern from tracey (on the prairie rugs ) when i met up with her! ive always wanted to hook a chicken ....
well Sadie the beagle is back with Jeff/Tonya, Grandbabe #2 was so excited to see her. when i went to say bye Sadie sniffed my hand and quickly ran to Jeff. i think she was afraid i would take her with me... then i came home and picked up Angela's dogs for an over night stay as she was gone for a wedding. Oliver thinks hes a lap dog and every time i sat he thought he'd sit on my lap... too funny. he is still such a puppy and tore down the curtains in the porch and found the cat food i had moved up on the counter... it all went well and they are home with Angie now and my house is quiet...
enjoy your day! jody
I like the dark chicken, but it seems sort of solid in color, if that makes any sense? Maybe instead of pulling it all out, just a slight touch here and there might change it a bit. Sort of like animal fur or feathers, there are lights and darks in them even though they maybe solid black, the light reflects different in certain spots.
ReplyDeleteThe fur babies are so lovable, bet that one is a pistol geting into things!
Have a great week!
Hi Jody, I also love the dark chicken, she is very pretty like that. Such a sweet face on Sadie, and also love the picture of the other two dogs, makes me smile. Blessings Francine.
ReplyDeleteHi Jody! As I've not hooked before I'm not able to offer any useful advice but hope you get it finished to your liking!
ReplyDeleteThe furbabies are so cute!
Have a lovely day!
I think the chicken is pretty!
ReplyDeleteSadie looks so intelligent! lol! She looks like a little model too!
Have a great week, Jody!

That hook rug you have started is looking good, your doggie is so precious love her expression. I started a hook rug years ago but to be honest never finished! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteYes, the cooler weather is here. We have all grabbed our hooks again. Lol Cute chicken. I would either funk up the ckicken or the background. Let me explain (I tend to be confusing) If you keep the plain chicken I would add some fun (dots or something) to the background. If the background is plain I would add some light speckles to the chicken. But what do I know. I hate color planning.
ReplyDeleteSweet furbaby pics!!!
ReplyDeleteYour pets are all loveable and look so friendly.
ReplyDeleteI think that your chicken looks great and I know nothing about primitive hooking but you may be right about the black being too harsh. If you could find a color a bit darker than the body but not as black, it might be what you are looking for. I would leave the black outline in until you find that darker color. Just my 2 cent worth, and 2 cents isn't worth much these days. Lol... Have a great week. JB
